FEBI Students Win 2nd Place in Sharia Economics Paper Competition at Diponegoro University

Students from FEBI UIN Sunan Kalijaga achieved a remarkable achievement in the Shariah Paper Competition, Sharia Economic Activity 10 (SPACE SEHATI 10) at Diponegoro University, Semarang. Silvi Sri Mulyani (AKS/17), Arfi Mulyasa Insani (AKS/17), and Alif Khuwarizmi Maulana (AKS/17) secured the 2nd place in the competition held by the Islamic Economics Study Group (KSEI) of the Faculty of Economics and Business at UNDIP on Thursday-Saturday (29-31/08) last week.

The competition, themed “The Strategic Role of Waqf in Improving Ummah Welfare,” commenced with the selection of abstracts, leading to the shortlisting of 43 teams from various universities in Indonesia. Following this, all participants submitted full papers related to the theme. From these submissions, the top 8 teams were chosen, including those from UIN Sunan Kalijaga, Airlangga University (2 teams), Brawijaya University, University of Indonesia, Padjajaran University, Gunadarma University, and IAIN Surakarta. The top 8 finalists then underwent a rigorous selection process to determine the winners through several competition stages, including paper presentations, case studies, and debates, culminating in the announcement of the top 3 teams: 1st place going to Padjajaran University, 2nd place to UIN Sunan Kalijaga, and 3rd place to University of Indonesia.

In a separate interview, one of the winning participants expressed that for their fellow competitors, we all know that experience is the most valuable teacher. Each individual has an equal opportunity to undergo the process and accumulate experiences. Every journey undoubtedly encompasses challenges, but we must always believe that hard work pays off. Above all, in every endeavor we undertake, be it within the classroom or beyond, the key lies in the way we establish our intentions. Positive intentions will ultimately lead to favorable outcomes.

“Let’s ensure our intentions are clear, and let’s remain committed to continuously exploring our potential and gaining knowledge from every experience. Let’s stay motivated to enrich our youth with achievements and successes!” he concluded.
