On Tuesday and Wednesday, December 7-8, 2021, the Faculty of Islamic Economics and Business (FEBI) UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta held a training on writing reputable national and international journals for FEBI lecturers with the theme “How to Get Published in Scopus-Indexed Journals” which took place for two days, from Tuesday at 13.00 WIB to Wednesday at 12.00 WIB. The speakers at the event were Mr. Tastaftiyan Risfandy, Ph.D. from Sebelas Maret University Surakarta, Mr. Hendi Yogi Prabowo, SE, MForAccy, Ph.D, CFrA, CAMS from Universitas Islam Indonesia Yogyakarta, and Mr. Hendy Mustiko Aji from Universitas Islam Indonesia Yogyakarta. The training was moderated by three FEBI lecturers: Mrs. Galuh Tri Pambekti, MEK, Mr. Rizaldi Yusfiarto, MM, and Mr. Jeihan Ali Azhar MEI. The event took place in person at Hotel GAIA Cosmo Yogyakarta and was attended by 15 lecturer faculty members from FEBI.
On the first day of the event, Dr. Afdawaiza stated that the training on writing reputable national and international journals for FEBI lecturers aligns with FEBI’s objective to continue advancing and going global. In the first session, which commenced at 14.00-14.20 WIB, Mr. Hendi Yogi Prabowo, SE, MForAccy, Ph.D, CFrA, CAMS from Universitas Islam Indonesia Yogyakarta delivered a presentation on the topic “Where to Start Writing Qualitative.” Following Mr. Yogi’s presentation, a Q&A session took place. Subsequently, after a break, the event resumed with the second session commencing at 20.00 WIB.
During the second session, two speakers, Tastaftiyan Risfandy, Ph.D. from Sebelas Maret University Surakarta, and Mr. Hendy Mustiko Aji from Universitas Islam Indonesia Yogyakarta, simultaneously presented on the topics “Where to Start Writing Quantitative” and “Where to Start Writing Research Based on Primary Data,” respectively. The session was moderated by Mrs. Galuh Tri Pambekti, MEK. Following the parallel presentations by the two speakers, a Q&A session took place, concluding at 22.30 WIB.
On the second day of the training event, a single session took place, featuring simultaneous presentations by three speakers. From 09.00–10.00 WIB, Mr. Yogi discussed “Easy Ways to Write Literature Review, Research Hypotheses, Methodology, and Qualitative Results.” Then, from 10.00–11.00 WIB, Mr. Tastaftiyan presented on “Easy Ways to Write Literature Review, Research Hypotheses, Methodology, and Quantitative Results.” Lastly, from 11.00-12.00 WIB, Mr. Aji discussed “Determining Statistical Analysis Tools Based on Research Questionnaires Obtained.” Mr. Rizaldi Yusfiarto, MM, served as the moderator for this session. Following the presentations, a Q&A session between the participants and speakers took place, concluding at 12.00 WIB.
Throughout the event, the participants displayed remarkable enthusiasm in attending each session. Many participants actively engaged with the speakers, asking questions and seeking advice on their research articles. It is hoped that the enthusiasm shown by the participants during this training will translate into a passion for conducting research, writing, and publishing their research findings. The primary objective of the article writing training event organized by FEBI UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta is for the research articles of all FEBI lecturer faculty members to be published in (at least) SINTA-indexed journals and (at best) SCOPUS-indexed journals.
