Three lecturers from the Department of
Islamic Financial Management, Faculty of Islamic Economics and Business, UIN
Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta, recently took part in the prestigious international
training programme Entrepreneurship Education, Knowledge Management, and
Policy Research held from July 3 to 16, 2025. Organized under the Indian
Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) Programme and sponsored by the
Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, this initiative was hosted
by the Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII) in Ahmedabad,
Gujarat. The course gathered professionals and scholars from twenty five
countries, including representatives from government agencies, private
organizations, academic institutions, business incubators, and entrepreneurship
development networks.
The
Indonesian delegation, comprising Izra Berakon, M.Sc., CIPM., Anniza Citra
Prajasari, SE.I., M.A., and Agus Faisal, S.E.I., M.E.I. actively engaged in the
two-week programme, which explored a broad array of themes such as
entrepreneurial motivation, market research, business planning, curriculum
design, science and technology-driven entrepreneurship, education policy, and
rural enterprise development. The sessions were delivered through interactive
lectures, psychometric assessments, group projects, field visits, and
cross-cultural exchanges. The programme was led by Dr. Sunil Shukla, Director
General of EDII, with Ms. Harmeet Kaur Dawar serving as the ITEC Programme
Coordinator and Dr. Pankaj Bharti as the Programme Director. Delegates also
contributed by presenting country-specific policy papers and participating in
collaborative dialogues with international peers.
The
successful participation of the Indonesian team was made possible through
institutional support from UIN Sunan Kalijaga. Prof. Dr. Misnen Ardiansyah,
Dean of the Faculty of Islamic Economics and Business, and Dr. Darmawan, Head
of the Department of Islamic Financial Management, provided the official
endorsement and permission letters. Ms. Syayyidah Maftuhatul Jannah, Head of
the Language Laboratory, issued a formal certification confirming the
delegates’ proficiency in English communication and academic writing. The
delegates also extend their appreciation to Mr. Rizaldy, Education Assistant at
the Embassy of India in Jakarta, for his crucial assistance in managing the
visa application process, travel arrangements, and pre-departure coordination.
This
international engagement directly supports the department’s mission to produce
graduates with strong entrepreneurial capabilities grounded in both theory and
real-world application. By joining this globally recognized programme, the
delegates have deepened their academic and practical understanding of
entrepreneurship, enhanced their global perspectives, and contributed to
advancing the department’s vision of nurturing innovative, ethical, and
policy-aware professionals in the field of Islamic finance and business.
