Bastian Eldi, a student of the Faculty of Islamic Economics and Business UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta, majoring in Islamic Financial Management, achieved third place in the ‘2020 National Online Essay Competition for Students’ held by the Sociology Department of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, University of Bengkulu on November 25, 2020.
The online event under the theme “The Contribution of Academia in Efforts to Combat the Covid-19 Pandemic” was attended by participants from various public and private universities in Indonesia. Through this event, students were given the opportunity to contribute to solving the nation’s problems, particularly those related to COVID-19.
During the final round, which featured 12 finalists, Bastian showcased a creative concept entitled “RUKO.com: Website-Based Marketplace Innovation: Efforts to Combat and Break the Chain of Covid-19 Transmission.”
“I want to express my gratitude to all those who have assisted and supported me in attaining this success. Being a finalist and emerging victorious fills me with pride. I am thrilled to be part of such an exceptional environment at UIN Sunan Kalijaga,” said Bastian.
Bastian, a member of Islamic Economics and Business Study Forum (ForSEBI), shared a message with his fellow comrades, “You don’t have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great.”
