On Saturday, March 16, 2019, the Student Association of Sharia Financial Management Study Program (HMPS-MKS) of the Faculty of Islamic Economics and Business, UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta, hosted members from the Student Association of the Management Department (HMJ) of the University of Muhammadiyah Malang. This visit was aimed at conducting a comparative study to forster camaraderie and synergy in the management of student organizations within the Department or Study Program.
With warm smiles and greetings, HMPS MKS, as the host, joyfully welcomed the arrival of HMJ Management from the University of Muhammadiyah Malang at FEBI at 08:00 WIB. The visiting HMJ Management comprised 87 student officials and 2 supervising lecturers, namely Mr. Iqbal Ramadhan, S.E., M.M., and Mr. Kenny Roz, S.Kom., M.M. The meeting took place in the Auditorium on the 5th floor of the Ali Maksum Building at FEBI, UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta.
Mr. Izra Berakon, S.E.I., M.Sc., a lecturer in the Sharia Financial Management Program, delivered a welcoming speech for the study visit of HMJ Management from UMM to FEBI, UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta. He provided insights into the newly constructed Faculty of Islamic Economics and Business building, inaugurated by the Minister of Religious Affairs, Lukman Hakim Saifuddin. Additionally, he introduced the Sharia Financial Management Study Program, expressing optimism for future collaboration in education enhancement, research, and other relevant areas.
Eko Yulianto, the Chairman of HMJ Management at UMM, presented the organizational structure of HMJ Management, comprising functionaries as structural members and “bilal” as the young generation tasked with continuing the organization’s leadership in the future. The functionaries are designated for students in the 3rd and 4th semesters, while the “bilal” is intended for students in the early semesters, specifically the 1st and 2nd semesters, for learning and future organizational restructuring. This management system could be effectively applied to HMPS MKS or other student organizations within the Faculty of Islamic Economics and Business.
During the comparative study meeting, participants exchanged information about their respective organizations’ structures, work programs, and achievements. HMJ Management UMM and HMPS MKS FEBI UIN Sunan Kalijaga delivered presentations on their divisions and fields to facilitate learning. The event also featured a Forum Group Discussion for each division between HMJ Management UMM and HMPS MKS UIN Sunan Kalijaga. The exchange of ideas and collaboration focused on supporting future improvements in student organizations, fostering synergy, and promoting good governance. The aim of such future comparative studies is to provide a platform for fostering camaraderie and establishing strong cooperation in the areas of education, research, service, and entrepreneurship.
