The National Working Meeting of the Forum of Islamic Economics and Business Students is a Success

The National Forum of Islamic Economics and Business Students is a national-level student organization overseeing the SEMA and DEMA of FEBI throughout Indonesia. Recently, FORNASMEBI held its Second National Working Meeting and Inauguration at UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta.

The selection of the venue is closely tied to the pivotal role of FEBI UIN Sunan Kalijaga as the founding institution of FORNASMEBI, as well as the ample facilities provided by the campus. Amid the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, the RAKERNAS committee has enforced stringent measures, such as restricting participation to only 10 universities and implementing a hybrid approach, allowing both offline and online participation for those unable to attend in person.

The RAKERNAS FORNASMEBI was held from October 11 to 14, 2020. Over the course of four days, participants were involved in a series of discussions covering topics such as rules of procedure, organizational guidelines, working meetings, and regional sessions. Furthermore, the inauguration of the FORNASMEBI officials for the 2019-2021 term took place on Monday, October 12, 2020, at the Convention Hall of UIN Sunan Kalijaga, with strict adherence to health protocols. The FORNASMEBI officials were inaugurated by the Dean of FEBI UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta, Dr. Afdawaiza, S.Ag, M.Ag.

The RAKERNAS FORNASMEBI also featured the participation of the Minister of Youth and Sports, represented by Dr. H. Mustadin Taggala, S.Ps., M.Si, the head of the legal and information systems division of the deputy for youth development at the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Indonesia, who delivered a keynote speech online. Furthermore, the general session included speakers such as Mr. AKBP Cahyo Wicaksono, S.H., from the DIY Regional Police’s Sub-Directorate of Community Development and Empowerment, and Hasan Al Banna, SEI., M.E, a lecturer at FEBI UIN Sunan Kalijaga. The theme was “The Role of Millennials in Enhancing National Resilience Through Strengthening People’s Economy.”

FORNASMEBI has expanded to encompass six regional divisions: Sumatra, DKI Jakarta-Banten, Yogyakarta-Central Java, East Java-Nusa Tenggara, Kalimantan, and Sulawesi-Maluku-Papua. These regions will conduct regional deliberations as an initial step towards regional development. The Inauguration and RAKERNAS FORNASMEBI are anticipated to yield new administrative legal frameworks for the organization, providing a solid legal foundation for FORNASMEBI’s future endeavors. The RAKERNAS FORNASMEBI concluded smoothly without encountering any obstacles.
