FEBI Prepares to Welcome International Students

Sleman (16/06) | The Faculty of Islamic Economics and Business (FEBI) at UIN Sunan Kalijaga is gearing up to attract foreign students and achieve international recognition. This was announced during an event attended by the Vice Rector for Field III, faculty leaders, Chairs and Secretaries of Study Programs, as well as Chairs and Secretaries of the Center of Developing Cooperation and International Affairs (CDCIA) at UIN Sunan Kalijaga.

Dr. Abdur Rozaki, S.Ag., M.Si., the Vice Rector for Field III, stated the significance of having international students at UIN Sunan Kalijaga. This initiative aims to enhance the university’s outstanding quality and cultivate moderate Islamic ambassadors abroad, promoting the Islam propagated by Kanjeng Sunan Kalijaga. To realize this objective, the university will offer full and partial scholarships to foreign students, along with academic mentoring programs and an immersive experience with Islamic communities in Yogyakarta.

During the event, the Dean of FEBI Dr. Afdawaiza, S.Ag., M.Ag., said that the presence of foreign students would be very beneficial for FEBI to elevate from a national level to an international one.
“For now, we will target foreign students from neighboring countries, such as Malaysia, Brunei Darussalam, and Thailand. Although it is not impossible from other countries as well,” said the Dean of FEBI.

Vice Dean III Dr. Ahmad Salehudin, S.Th.I., M.A., expressed that the inclusion of foreign students in FEBI will create opportunities for FEBI students to establish international connections. Furthermore, it will motivate students to enhance their academic prowess and proficiency in foreign languages.

“I am confident that the presence of foreign students will not only have a positive impact on FEBI’s accreditation, but will also invigorate the academic atmosphere as a whole,” said Vice Dean III of FEBI.
