The Sharia Economics Study Program at UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta has successfully achieved an A-level accreditation for the study program from the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN – PT), after undergoing a field assessment process on Friday-Saturday, January 22-23, 2021. The determination of the A-level accreditation for the study program is based on the accreditation certificate outlined in the Decree of BAN – PT Number 789/SK/BAN-PT/Akred/PT/II/2021. The accreditation certificate is valid for five years from 10/02/2021 to 10/02/2026.
The BAN-PT Assessor Team, led by Prof. Dr. Euis Amalia, M.Ag. from the State Islamic University of Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta and Dr. Syaugi Mubarak Seff, MA. from the State Islamic University of Antasari Banjarmasin, conducted the field assessment and granted the accreditation. The program’s attainment of an A-level accreditation for the second time signifies a significant improvement in its accreditation ranking. Notably, the Sharia economics program had previously achieved a B-level accreditation during the initial assessment in 2014.
In light of this academic achievement, Dr. Misnen Ardiansyah, S.E., M.Si., Ak., CA., ACPA, as the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs of the Faculty of Islamic Economics and Business, expressed gratitude to the Head of the Sharia Economics Study Program, the assessment team, the Faculty leadership, lecturers, educational staff, and all parties involved, hoping that their contributions will be a continuous charity. Furthermore, the Vice Dean I hopes that this A-level accreditation can serve as a catalyst for the study program and the Faculty to continuously improve quality and services.
On another occasion, Dr. Abdul Qoyum, S.E.I., M.Sc.Fin., the Head of the Sharia Economics Study Program, spoke on behalf of the Sharia Economics students and their parents. He expressed gratitude for the support received during the accreditation process of Sharia Economics, acknowledging the sacrifices made by some parents who had to sell chickens, goats, work as laborers, or engage in street and door-to-door sales to fund their children’s education. As the youngest program head in the Faculty of Islamic Economics and Business, he urged everyone to show gratitude for the accreditation results by increasing their devotion to God and enhancing the quality of teaching, research, and service at UIN Sunan Kalijaga.
