Yogyakarta - Srawung, a Javanese term, refers to a gathering or meeting involving multiple individuals or groups for interaction. In line with this, the Student Association of the Islamic Accounting Study Program (HMPS AKS) for the 2021 period organized an event called “Srawung with HMPS AKS 2021,” aimed at fostering better understanding and acquaintance among the 2020 batch of Islamic Accounting students.
Undeniably, the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has impacted numerous activities worldwide, including Indonesia, leading to the avoidance of gatherings and large-scale events like Srawung. In response to this, HMPS facilitated a virtual event on February 27, 2021, and was attended by 80 students from the 2020 batch and the HMPS management for the 2021 period.
“Srawung with HMPS AKS 2021” event is expected to foster camaraderie and introduce the student organization within the Islamic Accounting study program, namely HMPS, including the organizational structure and the work program for the current management period. The hope is for all students to gain understanding, awareness, and active participation in these activities and the execution of the work program.
The event commenced at 09:00 WIB and was moderated by Riska Oktavia, a Sharia Accounting student. It opened with the recitation of holy verses from the Quran by Halimatusadiah, followed by a solemn rendition of the Indonesian national anthem “Indonesia Raya” and the UIN Sunan Kalijaga hymn.
“This Srawung is held with the aim of declaring that we, together with all students of the Islamic Accounting study program, continue to strengthen the bonds of brotherhood within the framework of Islamic brotherhood, without distinguishing where you all come from. Once again, I emphasize that HMPS Sharia Accounting is a platform for the process for all students,” said Muhammad Wahfudin, the Chairman of HMPS AKS 2021.
The subsequent activity involved the introduction of the management and work program by the Daily Board and Departments in HMPS Sharia Accounting. It commenced with the Daily Board, followed by the Academic Department, Social & Religious Department, Arts & Sports Department, Entrepreneurship Department, Information & Technology Department, and concluded with the Human Resources Department. This was followed by an interactive Q&A session with students, fostering two-way communication in the form of a discussion. The presented work programs included activities such as “Sinau Bareng” (Learning Together), “Kajian Bareng” (Study Together), “Khataman Yasin and Tahlil,” Social Service, Webinars, and others.
Following the break for Ishoma (rest, pray, and eat), the next activity resumed at 13:00 WIB, which was the election of the Chairman of the 2020 Sharia Accounting Student Batch. Six candidate chairpersons participated in this election, and the process began with each candidate presenting their biographies and future aspirations if elected. Subsequently, a real-time vote was conducted using the Zoom meeting application after all the candidate chairpersons had presented their introductions. Mr. Wahyudi emerged victorious with 44.3% of the votes from the participants of the Srawung, officially assuming the role of chairman of the AKS 2020 batch.
Subsequently, a Breakout Room session was conducted, with all participants of the Srawung engaging in group meetings. The aim was to foster better individual-level acquaintance among the participants, culminating in a group photo session.
