Yogyakarta, Education at universities plays a role in producing the next generation prepared to become agents of change committed to professionalism, work ethic, with excellent competency and adaptability to all changes. The ongoing changes necessitate that the next generation not only enhances their capabilities but also comprehends the opportunities and challenges ahead, particularly accounting graduates.

Therefore, during the 2022 period, the Student Association of Sharia Accounting Program of UIN Sunan Kalijaga (HMPS-AKS UIN SUKA), in collaboration with the Indonesian Institute of Accountants (IAI) Yogyakarta Region, held IAI Goes To Campus 2022 event. The event took place at the Atrium Floor 01 of the Faculty of Islamic Economics and Business Building at the State Islamic University of Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta on Monday, June 20, 2022, from 08:00 to 12:00 WIB. The theme of the event was “Opportunities & Challenges for Accounting Graduates in the Era of Global Competition” and was attended by 110 participants, including students from the Sharia Accounting program at UIN Sunan Kalijaga, representatives from the accounting program at Mahakarya Asia University, Yogyakarta State University, Respati Yogyakarta University, Janabadra University, Muhamadiyah Yogyakarta University, and Yogyakarta University of Technology, as well as representatives from the Accounting Student Forum in the Special Region of Yogyakarta.

The event commenced with an opening address by Dr. Afdawaiza, S.Ag., M.Ag., the Dean of the Faculty of Islamic Economics and Business at UIN Sunan Kalijaga. In his remarks, he stated that “Accounting students must always grasp the opportunities and challenges awaiting them after graduating from university in order to prepare for the future, and make the most of the IAI Goes To Campus event as a platform for students to continue learning and broaden their horizons so that they can excel and be resilient in the workplace.”

“"Prospective accounting graduates aiming to pursue a career as accountants are required to successfully navigate through a series of Chartered Accountant certification examinations across different levels, starting from the foundational level, progressing to the professional level, and culminating in CA Indonesia certification, ultimately leading to registration as a certified accountant. Therefore, in the professional realm, individuals transitioning from administrative roles to accountancy are now assuming the role of analysts,” said Dr. Januar Eko Prasetio, M.Si., Ak., CA.

The event was moderated by Siti Muskabikhul Khasanah, S.Akun, a alumna of the Sharia Accounting program at UIN Sunan Kalijaga, graduating in 2017.
