HMPS AKS Virtual Visit to the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia

The odd semester of the academic year 2021/2022 at the State Islamic University of Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta officially commenced and is scheduled to last until June. A series of academic and non-academic activities will be carried out concurrently, both formally by the campus and informally by student organizations and other institutions. Notably, a series of work programs from the Student Association of Sharia Accounting Study Program (HMPS-AKS) for the 2022 period have commenced, aiming to invigorate and foster campus dialogues with the aspiration of benefiting all.

On Tuesday, March 1, 2022, the External Department of HMPS-AKS initiated a collaboration with the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia for the second time, organizing a Virtual Study Visit. The primary aim of this initiative was to offer students from the Faculty of Islamic Economics and Business, as well as other students, valuable insights into Central Government Financial Reports. A total of 146 students from diverse majors within the scope of the Faculty of Islamic Economics and Business, as well as other students, participated in this event, gaining valuable knowledge and experience.

“From this activity, especially students in the Accounting study program, we should be able to see and ensure the process from within on how the financial reports made by the Ministry of Finance serve as the government’s accountability for public funds,” said Nila Hanik, the Chairperson of HMPS-AKS UIN Sunan Kalijaga 2022.

The event commenced at 9:00 AM with a welcome speech from the Minister of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia, Mrs. Sri Mulyani Indrawati, stating that “the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia is entrusted with the responsibility of managing the state’s finances and budget in a proper, credible, healthy, and sustainable manner" The event continued with speeches by Dr. Afdawaiza, the Dean of the Faculty of Islamic Economics and Business, and Rezha Amran, the Head of the Public Education Subdivision, the Communication Bureau, and the Information Service of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia. The virtual visit encompassed diverse materials and concluded with an engaging quiz session. Alongside discussions on financial reports, participants were briefed on the upcoming High-Level G20 Conference Indonesia 2022, scheduled to take place in Nusa Dua, Bali.
