Yogyakarta – The Faculty of Islamic Economics and Business (FEBI) UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta continues to strive to ensure that its international classes are not merely labeled as such but possess genuine international quality. This commitment is evident in the International Class Curriculum and Learning Design Workshop for the Sharia Accounting and Sharia Financial Management Study Programs, held on Thursday, August 1, 2024. The event, held at Sahid Raya Yogyakarta Hotel, featured two keynote speakers: Dr. Imran Haider from Curtin University, Australia, and Dr. Anwar Radiamoda from Mindanao State University, Philippines.
Dr. Imran Haider specifically reviewed the curriculum and learning design of the Sharia Accounting Study Program, while Dr. Anwar Radiamoda focused on the Sharia Financial Management Study Program. In general, the presentations by Dr. Imran and Dr. Anwar focused on two key points: the limited inclusion of content relevant to international contexts and the need to enhance the alignment between the curriculum and the expected outcomes for graduates.
According to the Dean of FEBI, Dr. Afdawaiza, M.Ag., the feedback provided by the two speakers should be carefully considered and acted upon to ensure that FEBI UIN Sunan Kalijaga develops a curriculum with a truly international character and produces graduates capable of competing on the global stage. "We must not stop at the workshop stage; it must be followed by implementation," emphasized Dr. Afda, as he is fondly called.
Following the event, the Vice Dean for Academic and Institutional Affairs, Prof. Dr. Misnen Ardiansyah, SE, M.Si., Ak., CA., ACPA, stated that the workshop reflects FEBI UIN Sunan Kalijaga's serious commitment to transforming into a faculty with a global reputation. "By having our curriculum reviewed by international experts, we can identify areas for improvement and necessary adjustments," said the esteemed accounting professor from UIN Sunan Kalijaga.
