In a meeting held at the Dean's office, three students from the Sharia Financial Management (MKS) Study Program, Faculty of Islamic Economics and Business (FEBI) UIN Sunan Kalijaga shared their experiences from their student exchange program at Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM). The meeting took place on March 18, 2023, at 11:30 AM WIB. The three students, Lea Fathra Azha Nabiela, Mia Izzatul Afkarina, and Nisa Aulia Rohmah, were warmly received by the Dean of FEBI, Dr. Afdawaiza, S.Ag., M.Ag., the Vice Dean for Student Affairs and Cooperation, Dr. Ahmad Salehudin, M.A., and the program coordinator, Furqonul Haq, S.E.I., M.E.I.
The students participated in the exchange program at UUM, located in Sintok, Kedah, Malaysia, for one semester, from October 14, 2023, to March 5, 2024. This program was a follow-up to the collaboration agreement between FEBI UIN Sunan Kalijaga and UUM. The student exchange initiative aims to provide international exposure to students while fostering partnerships with various universities abroad, supporting FEBI's mission to become an internationally recognized institution.
During the meeting, the three students shared their experiences from their time studying at UUM. They discussed the differences in academic environments, campus culture, and curriculum comparisons between universities in Indonesia and Malaysia, as well as the joys and challenges they encountered while in Malaysia. The discussion was interactive and insightful, with both students and lecturers exchanging perspectives and knowledge, creating an inspiring and constructive atmosphere. This exchange not only enriched their academic insights but also broadened their cultural understanding and cross-border interactions. It is hoped that this program will not only serve as a valuable learning experience for the students but also provide additional momentum for the development of educational programs and cross-cultural collaborations at FEBI UIN Sunan Kalijaga.
