Kalijaga Capital Festival 2024: KSPM FEBI UIN Sunan Kalijaga Builds a Capital Market Ecosystem on Campus

On Saturday, November 16, 2024, the second edition of the National Stocklab Competition was held as part of the Kalijaga Capital Festival (KCAP Fest) 2024. This event was initiated by the Capital Market Study Group (KSPM) of the Faculty of Islamic Economics and Business (FEBI) UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta. The National Stocklab Competition is one of the series of events in the Kalijaga Capital Festival 2024, an annual KSPM agenda aimed at fostering students' interest in capital market studies. Previously, KSPM had successfully held the National Trading Competition and the National Paper Competition as part of the festival.

In his remarks, Anggas Arden Arya Satya, the Chair of KSPM FEBI UIN Sunan Kalijaga, expressed sincere gratitude for the support and motivation provided by the FEBI Dean, advisors, and lecturers. Their presence and contributions were deemed crucial in supporting the growth and development of capital market studies within the campus. "The Kalijaga Capital Festival 2024 is our annual agenda, and we sincerely hope that this series of events can enhance students' academic sensitivity to actively engage in the capital market," said the Chair of KSPM FEBI. It is no wonder that in the KCAP Fest 2024, various events have been designed with diverse formats, ranging from academic-based activities to interesting games and competitions.

In her remarks representing the FEBI Dean, Dr. Ibi Satibi, S.H.I., M.Si., expressed high appreciation for the holding of the National Stocklab Competition. With great enthusiasm, she encouraged FEBI UIN Sunan Kalijaga students to make the capital market a new and challenging habit, both theoretically and practically. The Vice Dean III also emphasized three key achievements that must continue to be developed by KSPM. First, to make the capital market part of students' academic and socio-economic culture. Second, to expand the network and accelerate capital market activities among students. Third, to strengthen the theoretical and practical foundations of capital market studies within the FEBI UIN Sunan Kalijaga.
After the event, Adil Indi Pebrian, a KSPM committee member, revealed to the media team that this year’s National Stocklab Competition attracted 80 participants from various universities across Indonesia. "This demonstrates that KSPM FEBI UIN Sunan Kalijaga has national-level managerial capabilities. Our next task is to sustain this capital market initiative within the academic traditions of FEBI students," Adil asserted.

To conclude the Kalijaga Capital Festival (KCAP Fest) 2024 series, KSPM held a Capital Market Seminar on Wednesday, November 21, 2024. This seminar not only discussed the current state and future projections of the Indonesian capital market but also provided participants with an opportunity to share their experiences and views on the development of capital market studies within the campus environment. In this seminar, the participants agreed that capital market studies, both at FEBI UIN Sunan Kalijaga and other universities, require serious attention from academics and university leaders. This support is considered a crucial step in enhancing the quality of capital market studies and strengthening the achievements of capital market galleries in each respective university.
