FEBI Student Achieves Best Presentation at TEMILNAS FoSSEI 2020

Students from the Faculty of Islamic Economics and Business at UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta, members of the Forum for the Study of Islamic Economics and Business (ForSEBI), achieved outstanding success at the national level during the National Scientific Meeting (TEMILNAS) FoSSEI XIX Year 2020. The event took place from Monday to Saturday (24-29/08/2020) under the theme “Optimizing Digital Economy and Halal Lifestyle Towards Indonesia as the Center of the World’s Sharia Economy.”

At the event, FEBI students were honored with an award for the best presentation, which took place at Padang State University.

The National Scientific Meeting (TEMILNAS) is a prominent competition held by the Fellowship Forum for Islamic Economic Studies (FoSSEI) at the national level. This event aims to enhance understanding of Islamic economics and overall Islamic insights, as well as to foster camaraderie among Islamic economics students and their counterparts in non-Islamic economics. Unlike previous years, the 2020 TEMILNAS was conducted online via Zoom and Google Meet from August 24 to 29, 2020, marking a departure from traditional in-person formats. Participation was limited to campuses with Islamic Economics Study Groups (KSEI), resulting in nearly 1,200 attendees from 14 regions, representing over 200 KSEI groups across Indonesia.

This year, four competition categories took place, including the Islamic Economics Olympiad, the Srikandi Writing Competition, Business Plan, and the Scientific Paper Writing Competition. Among these categories, students from FEBI UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta received an award for Best Presentation in the Scientific Paper Writing Competition with the Sub-Theme of Islamic Philanthropy (ZISWAF). The recipients of this award were three students from FEBI UIN Sunan Kalijaga: Silvi Sri Mulyani (Islamic Accounting 2017), M. Hanif Ibrahim (Islamic Banking 2018), and Annes Nisrina Khoirunnisa (Islamic Financial Management 2019).

According to the Vice Dean for Student Affairs and Cooperation, Dr. Ahmad Salehudin, MA., the accomplishment of these three students serves as an inspiration for all students at FEBI UIN Sunan Kalijaga. “The faculty will support and facilitate all FEBI students to develop their individual potentials,” he stated.
