FEBI UIN Sunan Kalijaga collaborates with Bank Indonesia DIY and the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia to hold a Capacity Building for Strengthening Hebitren DIY

FEBI UIN Sunan Kalijaga, in collaboration with Bank Indonesia DIY, the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, and the Association of Pesantren Business Economy (Hebitren) DIY, held “Capacity Building Strengthening Hebitren DIY” event. This collaborative event took place at PP. Darul Qur'an Wal Irsyad, Gunung Kidul.

The Capacity Building event was held from April 6-8, 2021, using a hybrid model, combining both in-person and online participation. It was attended by Dr. Waryono Abdul Ghofur, the Director General of Madrasah Diniyah and Islamic Boarding Schools at the Ministry of Religious Affairs of Indonesia. In his address, he mentioned that the Ministry of Religious Affairs has prepared a roadmap for the development of pesantren economies and emphasized the importance of mapping the economic potential of pesantren.

The Dean of the Faculty of Islamic Economics and Business, represented by the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, Dr. Misnen Ardiansyah, also delivered a speech. He expressed the readiness of the Faculty of Islamic Economics and Business UIN Sunan Kalijaga to collaborate with Bank Indonesia, Hebitren, and all relevant parties in efforts to improve the pesantren economy. He added that following the successful execution of the event, they hope to continue collaborating with Bank Indonesia, Hebitren, and related parties to empower and develop the pesantren economy.

The event also featured Mr. Yono Haryono (Department of Sharia Economics and Finance at BI), who provided in-depth explanations about BI’s role in the independent economic development program of pesantren. Inspirational speakers such as Gus Anas from PP. Sunan Drajat, Gus Irawan from PP. Al Ittfaq, and Umi Waheeda from PP. Nurul Iman were also present.

The Capacity Building event was specifically tailored for the 17 pesantren affiliated with Hebitren DIY. The 3-day training presented selected materials as catalysts for improving the pesantren economy through Hebitren. The content was delivered by lecturers from the Faculty of Islamic Economics and Business, including Dr. Abdul Qoyyum, Puspita Rani Pratiwi, Rudi Nugroho, Jeihan Ali Azhar, Izra Berakon, Dinik Fitri Rahajeng P, Alex Fahrur Riza, Galuh Tri Pambekti, Defi Insani Saibil, and Anniza Citra Prajasari.

Following the event, the 17 pesantren affiliated with Hebitren were provided with business roadmap documents, business model canvases, business plans, and budgeting tools as the initial measures for advancing the pesantren economy through Hebitren. They are now prepared to collaborate with stakeholders, SMEs, and any other entities that advocate for the self-sufficiency of the pesantren economy. (Galuh)
