FEBI UIN Sunan Kalijaga Prepares for Indonesia’s Golden Age 2045 with BNSP-Certified Graduates

FEBI UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta consistently demonstrates intelligence and remains at the forefront of identifying opportunities and staying updated on current issues. Following the successful accreditation of its study programs by international agencies FIBAA and LAMEMBA  (Independent Accreditation Agency for Business and Accounting Management) with the predicate of Excellence, FEBI UIN Sunan Kalijaga continues to innovate to enhance the quality of its graduates, including fostering awareness of the importance of expertise certification.

For this purpose, FEBI UIN Sunan Kalijaga held a General Study “The Urgency of Competency Certification for Student Competitive Excellence in the Era 4.0 Towards Golden Indonesia 2045,” on Friday, December 1, 2023, at the Convention Hall, 1st Floor UIN Sunan Kalijaga. The event featured Commissioner BNSP for the 2023-2028 period, Prof. Dr. Amilin, S.E.Ak., M.Si., CA., QIA., BKP., CRMP, as the keynote speaker. Attendees included the Dean of FEBI Dr. Afdawaiza, S.Ag, M.Ag., Vice Dean for Academic Affairs Dr. Sunaryati, M.Si., Vice Dean for Student Affairs and Cooperation Dr. Ahmad Salehudin, MA., study program heads and secretaries, and members of the academic community of UIN Sunan Kalijaga. 

BNSP is the sole official state entity entrusted with the authority to carry out professional competency certification, as stipulated by Government Regulation Number 10 of 2018 regarding the National Professional Certification Agency (BNSP). In compliance with this regulation, UIN Jogja has established the Professional Certification Institute (LSP) under the name LSP UIN Sunan Kalijaga. Currently, LSP UIN Sunan Kalijaga has been accredited by BNSP since 2021 and boasts 45 BNSP-certified competency assessors. Furthermore, it is set to conduct competency assessor training from December 11th to 15th, 2023.

During his presentation, Prof. Amilin emphasized that in order to thrive in today’s job market amidst the 4.0 industrial revolution and society 5.0, students need to equip themselves with a competitive edge by acquiring knowledge, skills, and work attitudes that align with established standards and regulations. This, he believes, will instill optimism and confidence in university graduates as they vie with the global workforce towards Golden Indonesia 2045. “Individuals with certified skills will possess a competitive advantage in this 4.0 era,” said the Professor from the Faculty of Economics at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta.

The General Study event commenced with an opening address by Dr. Afdawaiza, S.Ag, M.Ag, the Dean of the Faculty of Islamic Economics and Business at UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta. In his remarks, Afdawaiza emphasized the significance of competency certification for students as a means to complement their Diploma Supplement (SKPI). He highlighted that this certification serves as an indication that upon graduation, students are equipped with standardized competencies and hold official recognition from the state, preparing them to enter the global job market.

Following the speaker's presentation, numerous participants expressed a keen interest in delving deeper into the subject matter by posing insightful, forward-thinking questions. The ensuing discussion was characterized by a warm, dynamic, and conducive atmosphere, allowing participants to glean valuable insights from the speaker regarding the significance of professional competency certification for students.
